Goodbye 2011… Hello 2012

Looking back at our 2011 season, the Aquaducks set a few club records. Our biggest and most challenging pyramids ever, were successfully performed at the Wisconsin State Show Ski Championships in Wisconsin Rapids; the largest show skiing tournament in the world. Even though we are still basking in the glow of those accomplishments, it’s time to look forward to 2012.

So what does that mean? Well, our winter hibernation is over! You may think that because we are a water ski team that we only practice in the warm months when the truth is all of the hard
work is done in the “off” season. After we wrap up our fall pier fundraiser in late October, most of the club members enjoy some time off while others are planning for the upcoming season.

Now that January 1st has passed the countdown to our first show begins and preparations kick in to high gear. Props for our stage and pier are being built, the girls are working on
choreographing our new dances, the theme is being developed, indoor practices (a.k.a. drylands), music selections are being made, costumes are being designed and sewn, boats and
pontoons are being overhauled and so much more.

Our first show on Saturday, May 26th will debut our new theme Skicago. The new DA in town has vowed to do away with jazz and show skiing completely. Watch as our aspiring show skier,
Roxie, will do anything to be a star in the show. And, don’t forget to keep an eye on Willie, the flashy attorney turned talent manager. He has promised that Roxie will be a star and that the DA’s plans derailed. And finally, we hope to debut our new triple rig this year which will allow us to pull even bigger and more entertaining acts.

So hold on tight as the Aquaducks look to razzle and dazzle our audience all season long!
